Great North Run 2012

Bupa Great North Run

The Bupa Great North Run is firmly established as the world's greatest half marathon. Starting in Newcastle, the course takes in the iconic Tyne Bridge, goes through Gateshead passing the famous international athletics stadium and finishes in the coastal town of South Shields. Live music, on-course refreshments and thousands of cheering supporters will keep you motivated every step of the way.

Congratulations to this year's runners!

We'd like to say a huge congratulations and thank you to the fantastic 500 runners who took part in the Great North Run. The team have raised an amazing £75,000! The team were spurred on by friends and family at cheering points to give them a boost. Those who came to the charity village afterwards were treated to a well deserved cup of tea, refreshments and a chance to celebrate.
