The Prostate Cancer Charity in Scotland has been announced
as the new Charity Partner for Bowls Scotland's National
Championships.
The Prostate Cancer Charity Bowls Scotland Championships will
take place at Ayr's Northfield from July 27-31
Current world indoor bowls champion Paul Foster joined former
world champions Alex Marshall MBE, Willie Wood MBE and David
Gourlay at the launch event at Glasgow's St Vincent Bowling
Club.
Ann Ferguson, Head of Operations at The Prostate Cancer Charity in
Scotland, said: "Lawn bowls is a huge sport in this country, being
played by around 90,000 men and women of all ages. We are therefore
delighted to announce our partnership with Bowls Scotland, which
gives us the ideal platform to get our potentially life-saving
message across."
Alan McMillan, Chief Executive of Bowls Scotland, said: "This
association will be of huge benefit to both The Prostate Cancer
Charity in Scotland and Bowls Scotland, and we hope it is the start
of a long partnership."
