The Prostate Cancer Charity is adding some seasonal sparkle to
the festive period as it hosts its Christmas Cracker event and it
is urging people across London to join them in spreading the
holiday spirit.
The Charity will shake away the winter frost and raise some
Christmas cheer at Cadogan Hall, encouraging guests to sing along
and join in the fun. The evening is packed with a range of seasonal
acts, including readings from BBC Countryfile's Julia Bradbury and
Eastenders' Rudolph Walker as well as Lenny Henry's director in
Othello, Barrie Rutter.
Performances on the night also include award-winning comedy duo
Max and Ivan, the Bath-based choir, Choir One, magician Paul Brown
and women's circus theatre Circo Rum Ba Ba. Host for the evening
will be the much loved British actor and comedian, Tom
O'Connor.
The Prostate Cancer Charity's Director of Fundraising, Mark
Bishop, said: "We are very excited about this year's Christmas
Cracker which has evolved into a spectacle of seasonal
performances, getting us geared up for Christmas and promising a
fun-filled evening.
"Prostate cancer affects 37,000 men and their families each year
in the UK and this Christmas we are asking people to spare them a
thought and to also join us in spreading the festive cheer.
Christmas in London is a magical time and we are hoping that our
concert will make it all the more special. The more the
merrier!"
Actor and comedian, Tom O'Connor, said: "I am really looking
forward to hosting The Prostate Cancer Charity's Christmas Cracker
event this year. Prostate cancer is a cause very close to my heart
as many men are not aware of the disease until it is too late. This
concert will be a fabulous night with comedy, singing and magic -
what more could you ask for in the build-up to Christmas and what
better way to get into the festive spirit - I do hope you will join
us".
British television presenter, Julia Bradbury, said: "My family
and I are looking forward to attending The Prostate Cancer
Charity's Christmas Cracker event. Raising awareness of prostate
cancer is important as my father, Michael, who is joining us on the
night, has been diagnosed with the disease. This is the perfect
opportunity to bring everyone together and spread some Christmas
cheer".
