This Tour Ride was one of three events staged across the UK, as
part of the Charity's partnership with The Tour of Britain. The
events offered people the unique opportunity to follow in the paths
of the professional cyclists and ride an actual leg of Britain's
premier road race.
Not content with tackling the tough terrain of the South West,
Mark Goodier then decided to get in the saddle for a second extreme
event in the Stoke-on-Trent 80km Tour Ride. Mark was joined by
football legends Mark Bright and Graham Roberts and former England
cricketer Gladstone Small as well as star of Channel 4's Hollyoaks,
Nicole Barber Lane, who rode the 25km route alongside her
family.
The celebrities were shown the way by a host of professional
cyclists, including Ed Clancy OBE and Kristian House who rode
alongside their Motorpoint-Marshalls Pasta and Rapha Condor Sharp
team mates.
The family friendly London Tour Ride saw star of BBC One's
EastEnders Rudolph Walker being reunited with his on screen son,
Nicholas Bailey, in the real East End. The pair were joined by
comedian David Schneider of 'I'm Alan Partridge' fame, who filmed a
spoof video for the event, which can be viewed here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZJqnNnjm_M.
TV presenter and DIY guru, Tommy Walsh, and Heart FM presenter Matt
Wilkinson, also geared up for the challenge and led the way for
almost 1,000 amateur cyclists.
