Owen Sharp, Chief Executive of The Prostate Cancer Charity, has
started a new blog.
Owen, who joined the Charity in March, will be sharing his
thoughts on prostate cancer and men's health as a cause, and a
unique insider's perspective on the challenges ahead. As Chief
Executive of the leading organisation working with people affected
by prostate cancer, Owen will also be championing the rights of the
250,000 men living with the disease, and their families.
"I am keen to use my blog as a platform to share with anyone
with a vested interest in this disease my thoughts on the main
issues on the prostate cancer landscape, and how we will overcome
any barriers men face to being aware, getting diagnosed and
treated. I am also committed to the 'survivorship agenda' and
ensuring that men who have been affected have their needs fully
understood and met.
"Although men's awareness and experience of prostate cancer has
undoubtedly improved, there is still a long way to go. I will be
using the blog to chart this journey and keep people informed of
the decisions, partnerships and initiatives which will be critical
to progression. I hope people will read the blog and take this
journey with me. The voice of men affected by prostate cancer
should be a loud one. I hope, also, that people share their views
with me. I may also, from time to time, share my musings on the
trials and tribulations, and hopefully the triumphs, of being a new
Chief Executive."
