In December, The Prostate Marksmen, four brave ex-Marines, one
of them an M&S employee, will be rowing their boat, HM&S
Twiggy, across the Atlantic to raise £75,000 for prostate cancer
research. This immense challenge will see them row unaided for six
weeks, 24 hours a day from the Canary Islands to Antigua.

Graham, Jason, Aldo and Ken tell us that more people have
successfully climbed Mount Everest than have rowed across an ocean;
we're taking their word for it! We wish them the very best of luck
on their epic and shark-infested trip.
Jason Howard-Ady commented on behalf of the Prostate Marksmen,
"The reason we are undertaking this adventure of a lifetime is
firstly to raise as much money as we can for The Prostate Cancer
Charity which we feel is deserving of far more public awareness,
especially amongst middle-aged men. Secondly, to be lucky enough to
undertake such a challenge at our ages when we should be thinking
about lowering our golf handicap and mowing the lawn more than we
actually do!"
Mark Bishop, Director of Fundraising at The Prostate Cancer
Charity said: "We wish The Prostate Marksmen the very best of luck
and a bon voyage on their awe-inspiring trip. Without people like
them, we simply wouldn't be able to make as much progress in our
work as we have done. This challenge will really catch the public's
attention alerting them to the risks, signs and symptoms of
prostate cancer as well as raising lots of money for our research
and support work. For that, we thank the Marksmen and our long-term
partner M&S for their absolutely vital
support for men and families affected by the disease."
