The document sets out Government progress in developing
a vision for public health and a timeline for completing the
operational design of this work through the Public Health System
Reform Updates.
Owen Sharp, Chief Executive at The Prostate Cancer Charity,
explains: "This report provides further detail about the future of
the public health system in England. Yet for prostate cancer, the
most common cancer in men, it remains unclear where in the system
the responsibility for ensuring the facts about the disease reach
men will lie.
"Men need clear and balanced information about prostate cancer so
that they can make an informed decision about whether to have tests
that can help diagnose the disease.
"The Charity is very keen to collaborate and support work to
ensure that men continue to receive the support and information
they need, but clarity and leadership on the issue from the
Government is first needed."
