A Virgin London Marathon employee is to take on the sea voyage
of a lifetime when he attempts to solo row the Atlantic at the end
of November.
John Beeden, who is responsible for organising the Virgin London
marathon exhibition and registration, will set sail from Gran
Canaria in the Canary Islands on Sunday 27 November for the 2600
nautical mile journey to raise money for The Prostate Cancer
Charity and Breast Cancer Care.
He was inspired to take on the Herculean challenge to test his
resilience, resourcefulness and endurance.
John, who will take to the seas in a rowing boat just over six
metres long, will complete his journey in Port St. Charles in
Barbados between 50 and 90 days after setting off, depending on the
weather.
John is hoping to raise £50,000 through the challenge. Sponsor him and find out more.
