President Jonathan, a Professor of Oncology at Imperial College London, is the founder of Prostate Cancer UK. As a clinician he has helped develop new cancer treatments that are now part of standard practice. Jonathan has written around 400 scientific research papers and chapters, 11 books on cancer, a law book, a novel and two collections of short stories. Jonathan directs a laboratory research group comprising 20 scientists and has raised funds for the building of the Hammersmith Cancer Centre. He helped establish an All Party Parliamentary Group to improve cancer treatment and rationalise cancer research throughout the UK. He has developed and led successful media campaigns to rationalise cancer treatment and change government health policy.

Paul was appointed Chairman of Prostate Cancer UK in March 2005. He is a visiting Professor at Birmingham City University, a founder member of the Birmingham City Business School Advisory Board and Chairman of CVC Associates. Paul started his career in marketing with 10 years at Cadbury Schweppes, before spending 20 years managing advertising agencies and associated marketing service companies, latterly as CEO at Euro RSCG plc. He has held a number of NED roles and founded a specialist management consultancy. Paul was diagnosed with advanced and aggressive prostate cancer in 1999 and given the typical prognosis of around two year's life expectancy. Following hormone therapy, a radical regime of immune support and Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy, Paul's PSA was successfully reduced to zero in 2005. 13 years from his original diagnosis he remains well and still enjoys tennis and skiing.

Ray has enjoyed a long career in the media industry, retiring as Chief Executive of Aegis's European network and from the PLC board in 2002.  Since then Ray has taken on non-executive roles in a number of major media companies, notably at London Weekend Television, Just Media, and at Starcom. He is currently engaged in investing in media based start-ups, taking an active interest in their development. Ray recently combined his interest in history and film by completing an MA in History of Film. He is an enthusiastic (if erratic) golfer, fanatical Chelsea supporter, and a fully paid up member of the lycra wearing community of cyclists.

After training as an accountant with PwC and a spell with the International Accounting Standards Board, Hugh spent 20 years in investment banking and general management with S.G. Warburg before becoming a bursar at an Oxford college and a director of finance at a leading school. He has been a trustee of several charities including VSO and the Olympic rowing lake at Dorney, and remains closely involved in a range of voluntary activities.

Christopher, who was a Research Scientist at University, has extensive business experience having been a Director, Managing Director and Chief Executive of several companies, ranging from a FTSE 100 business to a start-up. He has worked in a number of different business sectors including commodity trading, sugar refining, road transport and engineering, residential and commercial property development, leisure, toys and general wholesaling. He was chairman of the Prostate Cancer Research Foundation and Prostate Action. Christopher was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2003 and continues to be treated.

Mark was Director General in the NHS and Department of Health prior to joining KPMG. He played a leading part in Lord Darzi's Next Stage Review, and sat on the NHS Management Board for three years. Mark joined St Mary's Hospital in London after being a fast track graduate of the NHS Management Training Scheme and the Civil Service. He signed the second largest hospital PFI contract in the history of the NHS and helped establish the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine which supports injured personnel. Mark has a personal interest in prostate cancer and is especially keen to provide access to prostate cancer services for disadvantaged communities.

Bob trained and worked as a civil engineer in the UK and Saudi Arabia before joining PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1983. Bob worked mainly within the Assurance practice, providing audit and advisory services to a variety of multi-national clients before becoming Director of Finance for Central and Eastern Europe in 1993 and later a partner in 1998. From 2002 Bob began to develop a portfolio of clients in the charity sector and in 2005 was appointed the head of the UK firm's Charity Group. Bob is currently Director of Finance and Information Systems at Oxfam GB and is married with two teenage daughters.

Roger is one of the UK's best known and most experienced prostate surgeons. Throughout his career he has championed advances in the diagnosis, management and treatment of prostate diseases, including robot-assisted radical prostatectomy for prostate cancer. He has also maintained a strong interest in men's health and patient safety, introducing several initiatives in these fields. Roger has written nearly 70 books and published more than 340 scientific papers. He was chairman of the charity Prostate UK for 13 years and is Secretary of The Urology Foundation. Roger has personally raised over £3 million for these charities through marathon running, mountain climbing, trekking and cycling challenges.

Hing is a Consultant Urological Surgeon in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, and Professor of Urology and Surgical Oncology a Glasgow University. Hing has written over 100 peer-reviewed reports, review articles and chapters, and his role in translational research for uro-oncology has contributed to the first multi-centre gene therapy trial on prostate cancer within the UK. He received the Karl Storz-Harold Hopkins Golden Telescope Award in 2008 for his pioneering work in translational research and contribution to urology. Hing currently represents Prostate Cancer UK on the Global Scientific Advisory Committee established as part of the Movember Foundation's Global Action Plan.

David worked for 40 years in the housing sector throughout Britain, as well as in North America and the Far East. This included 27 years at Barratt Developments plc - 17 years of which were on the Main Board and four years as Group CEO - before retiring in 2006. David was named UK Regeneration Champion of the Year in 2006 and remains active in the housing and property sector, with a special interest in the provision of homes for first time buyers and social housing. He is a Trustee of The Prince's Regeneration Trust and is a member of the advisory board at the NHBC Foundation. He was made a CBE for services to house building in 2007. David is married with two daughters and eight grandchildren.

Laurance became a trustee of the Prostate Cancer Research Foundation in 2003, which later became Prostate Action. Laurance has lost close friends to prostate cancer as well as having others who have been diagnosed and successfully treated. Laurance is committed to supporting the work started by Sir Clive Bourne and to seeing the merged charity continue to grow.

William worked in the city for 19 years, 14 of them at Merrill Lynch. William is Chairman of the Haberdashers Foundation for Education and Knightsbridge School, and Director of Knightsbridge School International. He is a Magistrate, Governor of Adams' Grammar School and Abraham Darby Academy. William is now an entrepreneur with investments in various businesses, and is Director of Red Savannah Travel, Congham Hall Hotel, and East African Gold. A passionate sportsman and very keen real tennis player, William loves the theatre and is married with four children - three boys and a girl.

Christopher Smith worked in the City for some 40 years . He was a Partner of Cazenove & Co for 19 years and subsequently a Managing Director - Corporate Finance of JPMorgan Cazenove until his retirement in 2008.  Christopher is a non-executive director of Law Debenture Corporation plc and of CG Asset Management Limited. He is Chairman of the Trustees of King's Medical Research Trust and a Trustee of Allchurches Trust which owns the Ecclesiastical Insurance Office.

Sharon sits on Deloitte's UK Executive Team and as Managing Partner Regional Markets is responsible for their business outside of London. She has more than 25 years of experience auditing and advising clients across a broad range of sectors, from media and newspaper publishing to manufacturing and engineering with a particular focus on retail and consumer business. She is also a Non-Executive Director of the CBI. She has two Goldendoodles, is a keen Manchester Utd fan and loves skiing. Persuading over 65 men and women to join her team in each of the past two years, Sharon has raised more than £50,000 through Movember.

Timothy began his career as an academic scientist, teaching and working on research between the borders of chemistry and physics. Following a short spell with the Greater London Council he joined the Department of Trade and Industry. Timothy was responsible for civil nuclear issues at the Department of Energy before moving to Head of Immigration at the Home Office. He was Deputy Chairman of HM Customs and Excise before becoming Director General of the Health and Safety Executive, a position he held until 2005. Until recently, Timothy was the Third Church Estates Commissioner, a director of the Financial Reporting Council and Chair of the Accountancy and Actuarial Discipline Board. 

Vanessa is the founder of leading women's network and website wearethecity.com which serves an audience of over 70,000 City women. Vanessa has worked in Banking and Finance - specialising in IT and Operations - for the past 23 years, and had held a number of senior positions across the City, most recently Chief Operating Officer at a leading retail bank. Awarded the Champion for Women at the 2011 Women in Banking and Finance awards, Vanessa was also identified by the Financial News as a Top 100 Rising star under 40 in 2010.

Lady Joy Bourne assisted in setting up the Prostate Cancer Research Foundation in 1991 and in running the biennial Forums with her late husband Sir Clive.

Sir Clive Bourne contracted prostate cancer in 1991 at the age of 49, and decided to investigate every aspect and avenue of the condition available to the layman. It came as a shock for him to learn that there was no organised research on either a national or international level, and convinced that only systematic research could provide solutions, he started the Prostate Cancer Research Foundation (known then as the Prostate Cancer Charitable Trust).

Sir Clive continued to be a driving force in the prostate cancer research field until his death in 2007. Lady Bourne worked alongside Sir Clive, and continued to offer her support first to Prostate Action, and now to Prostate Cancer UK. She is Chairman of the Annual Dinner Committee, and is committed to carrying on the legacy of her late husband in working to combat the disease. 

Anthony Kilmister founded Prostate UK in 1994 (then Prostate Research Campaign UK) when he became aware of the lack of research and information available to the public on prostate disease. So he set about creating a charity which focused on improving research into the three prostate diseases and producing patient’s information literature. He became Joint Life President of Prostate Action in 2010 following the merger of Prostate UK and PCRF.

Anthony is President of the Anglican Association and Vice-President of thePrayer Book Society. He was invested with the OBE in 2005.
