RAMP-3 - a new target to prevent cancer spreading

University of SheffieldProfessor Tim Skerry£49,9782013 - 2013

The project in a nutshell

Investigating whether stopping a protein called RAMP3 from working helps stop prostate cancer growing and spreading.

Why we funded it

RAMP3 is not an essential protein in the body and so it can be blocked without causing any serious side-effects (unlike chemotherapy or radiotherapy). This could develop into an effective treatment for preventing the spread of prostate cancer.
